Cotabato City (July 21, 2020) – “With the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, life as we know it has ended and a new or better normal is now in order.”
Thus, asserted Bangsamoro Transition Authority Member of Parliament Atty. Maisara Damdamun-Latiph in the editorial of the second issue of the newsletter, “Empowering Voices”.
The Office of MP Latiph publishes the newsletter quarterly.
“I say better normal because we can build back a better society that is more equitable, inclusive, greener, safer and fairer,” Latiph said.
The second issue of the Empowering Voices focused on the challenges of COVID-19 in the Bangsamoro Region such as education, health, economic, social and peace and order.
“The Bangsamoro Region today is in a unique point in history. Building of a new government that draws its strength from the foundation of Moral Governance led by Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim of the BTA meant that business as usual is not acceptable anymore. Corruption, weak governance, lack of accountability must be stopped and eradicated. The laying of new systems, processes and procedures for better governance grounded on transparency, accountability and competence must be the new normal for the Bangsamoro,” MP Damdamun-Latiph added.
Second Quarter of Empowering Voices Newsletter
Among the topics highlighted in the newsletter are “Ideas for Food Sufficient New Normal Beginnings, Analysis of the MBHTE guidelines on education continuity plan, and Ang pag-aaral ng batang bakwit sa panahon ng New Normal.”
