BTA unveils new ‘equipment’, presents accomplishment

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament successfully unveiled today, January 19, 2021 its newly acquired equipment during a ceremony held at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex (SKCC), Bangsamoro Government Center, this city.

Secretary General Raby B. Angkal said the unveiling of the LED Wall Panel System inside the session hall was held as part of the second foundation anniversary of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

“Aside from the LED Screen, BTA has also acquired forty complete sets of wireless microphones (AMS System),” Angkal said.

Angkal said the cost of the new LED Wall is approximately P2.5 Million, while the wireless microphones is around P2 Million.

In his message, Speaker Atty. Pangalian M. Balindong said the unveiling of the LED screen is symbolic of our own unveiling since it is the revelation of our potential as a self-ruled people.

“Simultaneous with all the other activities being conducted in this week’s celebration, this unveiling ceremony is symbolic of our collective effort to put the best available technology and resources in the service of our people,” Balindong said.

Balindong emphasized it is important to be reminded that our optimism must not be dependent on only the good news as the source of true optimism springs from our deep faith and clear vision for a better Bangsamoro.

“No matter what the situation is, we need to always keep our spirits up, and always keep on striving. The change is within us. Fundamental reforms, lasting peace, and socio-economic progress will continue to happen if we, ourselves, continue striving in the path of peace and righteousness.The new generation of Bangsamoro has woken up to the realization of our people’s dream. May our government and people grow and become prosperous for the present and future generations of Bangsamoro,” he said.

Also present during the ceremony were Deputy Speaker Atty. Omar Yasser C. Sema, Majority Floor Leader Atty. Lanang T. Ali, Jr., Executive Secretary Abdulraof A. Macacua together with Members of the Parliament (MPs) Atty. Jose Lorena, Dr. Susana Anayatin, Bainon Karon, Ali Salik, Ibrahim Ali, Romeo Saliga, Akmad Abas, Aida Silongan and Suwaib Oranon. Other MPs were present via Zoom teleconference.

As part of the program, a video presentation of the BTA Parliament’s accomplishment in the past two years was played using the new LED screen. BTA has so far enacted landmark laws, with 15 Bangsamoro Autonomy Acts (BAAs) and approved 100 resolutions.

Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic affecting not only the Bangsamoro region but the entire world, the BTA Parliament remains steadfast and unfazed as it continues to deliver its mandate for the benefit of the Bangsamoro. (GALao, Publication and Media Relations Division, BTA Parliament)
