COTABATO CITY – Another measure seeking to create a hospital in the municipality of Tipo-Tipo, Basilan, was filed in the plenary by several members of the Bangsamoro Parliament.

The proposed Parliament Bill 127 was introduced by MPs Abdulmuhmin Mujahid, Zul Qarneyn Abas, Atty. Laisa Alamia, Faiz Alauddin, Alzad Sattar, Hatimil Hassan, Muslima Asmawil, and Muslimin Jakilan.

According to the proposed bill, the Tipo-Tipo Hospital will have a 15-bed infirmary capacity during its initial operation, under the direct administrative and technical supervision of the Ministry of Health.

Authors of the bill said that by establishing the hospital in Tipo-Tipo, health workers would be able to improve the delivery of health services in the said municipality, help develop a health responsive system, and serve patients who are unable to afford to send their patients to certain medical facilities and hospitals.

It also seeks to serve and cater to the medical needs of the Tipo-Tipo municipality and other neighboring towns.

On October 12, two bills aimed at establishing hospitals in Muhammad Ajul and Tabuan-Lasa in Basilan were also filed by members of the Parliament from the said province.

As stated in the Bangsamoro Organic Law, the Bangsamoro Government should provide for a comprehensive and integrated health service delivery for its constituents.
