COTABATO CITY — A total of 398 college students from different municipalities in Lanao del Sur received P10,000 cash assistance from the Office of Bangsamoro Parliament Member Said Shiek to cushion the impact of the pandemic.

MP Shiek said that it is part of their efforts to look after the welfare of the students who need help during the pandemic.

He funded the project through his Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Services and Development.

“It will help us with our educational expenses,” one of the recipients said, “since most of our classes are now done online.”

Other than providing assistance to students, MP Shiek also allocated budget for the MSSD’s Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan (BSK), BSK-Women, and Kupkop Program (Assistance for Orphan Children and Youth).

He also led a series of groundbreaking ceremonies for the construction of a water system in Barangay Poblacion of the Municipality of Pantar and a covered court in Barangay Pacalundo, Municipality of Balo-i. (LTAIS-Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations Division)
