COTABATO CITY — Another measure seeking to upgrade a hospital in Maguindanao has been filed in the Bangsamoro Parliament today.
Parliament Bill No. 175, principally authored by the Member of the Parliament Zul Qarneyn Abas, aims to upgrade the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital from its present level 2 classification to a level 3 hospital with a 350-bed capacity.
Currently, the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital has 229 authorized bed capacities.
In the proposed measure, the existing physical structures, equipment, services, personnel complement, and appropriate operating and maintenance expense requirements should be upgraded to meet the minimum standards.
By upgrading the MPH into a level three hospital, it will become a training hospital with an accredited residency training program for physicians in the four major specialties, including Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and surgery.
It will also have physical medicine and rehabilitation unit, ambulatory surgical clinic, dialysis facility, blood bank, a DOH licensed tertiary clinical laboratory with standard equipment and a level 3 imaging facility with interventional radiology.
If passed into law, the MPH will remain under the administrative supervision of the Ministry of Health. (LTAIS – Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations Division)
