COTABATO CITY – Member of the Parliament Sittie Shahara Mastura held a series of groundbreaking ceremonies in various municipalities in Maguindanao for the installation of solar-powered street lights and the construction of children’s playgrounds.

The projects will be implemented by the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) using the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of the members of the Parliament.

“Ang kapakanan ng mamamayan ng BARMM ang siyang sentro ng aking panunungkulan at masaya akong maipatupad ko ang proyektong nararapat sa kanila,” Mastura said.

(Ensuring the welfare of BARMM’s people is my priority, and I am happy to carry out projects they deserved.)

The municipalities of Buldon, Sultan Kudarat, North Upi, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Northern and Mother Kabuntalan were among the beneficiaries of the infrastructure programs.

“Matagal nang pangarap ng mga taga-Kabuntalan ang magkaroon ng children’s park at ngayon ay matutupad na ng dahil kay MP Mastura,” Datu Salaban Diocolano, town chief of Northern Kabuntalan, stated as he expressed his gratitude.

(Residents of Kabuntalan asked for a children’s park, and today, MP Mastura granted this wish.)

Aside from installing street lights and building of children’s play parks, Mastura also proposed the improvement of the province’s unpaved roads.

Both the solar-powered lights and the road improvements, according to North Upi Mayor Ramon Piang, would aid and protect the safety of vehicles that go through their area, particularly at night.

Said initiatives give people in Maguindanao well-lit streets as well as alleviate traffic hazards. (Publication and Media Relations Division)
