‘Kadtag Bangsamoro’ serves assistance to 4,014 vulnerable families in BARMM

Cotabato City (April 1, 2020) – A total of 4,014 vulnerable families in the 37 barangays of Cotabato City benefitted from the ‘Kadtag Bangsamoro’ project on March 28.

Kadtag Bangsamoro is a relief assistance initiative that aimed to support the most vulnerable families affected by the pandemic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis which was organized by the Office of the Majority Floor Leader of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament.

Following the protocol of social distancing, a ceremonial distribution was conducted on March 28 at the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR).

Lawyer Lanang T. Ali Jr. said they distributed the bulk of the relief goods “to (the) city residents through their respective village chairmen with utmost safety precautions by wearing mask and observing social distancing.”

Every family received five kilograms of rice, one kilogram of sugar and one-fourth kilogram of native coffee.

Kadtag Bangsamoro raised Php 1,155,500 fund as of April 1 from its partners like some members of the Parliament, Office of the Parliament Speaker, Office of the Attorney-General IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, and the League of Bangsamoro Organizations, Incorporated (LBO).

“The ‘Kadtag Bangsamoro’ will soon continue to distribute relief assistance to the families adversely affected by the COVID-19 lockdown within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM),” Ali Jr. said. (RSolaiman, BTA Parliament)
