BALO-I, Lanao del Norte — Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Member of the Parliament (MP) Said Shiek continues to strengthen its battle against the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic crisis with its awareness campaign program in this town, dubbed as Project Gonanao (Awareness) Ko COVID-19 (Project GKC19).

MP Shiek said this initiative program of his office which is in partnership with the Momungan Youth Action Network (MYAN) involves a series of month-long activities such as slogan-making, recorida, house to house distribution of pamphlets, short film making and a house to house community dialogue with select Balo-i residents and COVID-19 survivors.

“Project GKC19 was created and successfully launched by our office and MYAN last August 21, 2020 with the aim to address prevalent issues arising in the community caused by COVID-19, to minimize its local transmission and to correct misconceptions and misinformation through this awareness campaign,” MP Shiek stressed.

In a continuing activity on Monday, September 29, 2020 held at their Balo-i satellite office, the team prepared printed copies of COVID-19 reminders and posted it to conspicuous areas of the town.

Volunteer Hayanie Solaiman expressed his thoughts in extending support to his fellow Bangsamoro.

“Even though it was quite difficult since there were restrictions, but I still thought to extend a helping hand. I understand there are many people who needed our help. Nothing can stop us from helping others in any way. I sincerely pray to Allah that this crisis would end immediately,” Solaiman said.
