Cotabato City (June 10, 2020) – Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament Speaker Ali Pangalian Balindong has appointed Prof. Raby Angkal, BTA Secretary-General, as the new chairperson of Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), effective June 1.

According to Balindong, the BAC chairperson will serve a one year term of office from the date of the designation.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed five members of the BAC and the three members of the secretariat convened their first meeting on Tuesday, June 9, held at the BTA Executive Lounge.

BAC Chair Angkal said in the meeting that he is positive that BAC will succeed if, “we will align with the the flagship program of the government of the day through the chief minister, that is the moral governance.”

“Our job can be either easy or difficult. It will be easy if we follow the rules and regulations of our work smoothly. But it will also be difficult if we forget or overlook the rules and regulations set by our work,” he added.

Resolved in the said meeting among others was the timeline schedule of essential activities, primarily, the invitation to apply for eligibility and to bid on procurement projects of the BTA Parliament.

The BAC prescribes the necessary law, rules and regulation for the modernization, standardization and regulation of the procurement activities of the government. (RSolaiman, BTA Parliament)
